J.F. White was contracted by Boston Public
Facilities as the Mechanical General Contractor to
upgrade and modernize the mechanical room for West
Roxbury High School.
The
project entailed removing the existing Hot Water
and Chilled Water Supply/Return equipment and piping
from the mechanical room and replacing the components.
Interesting aspects of this project included close
coordination with the owner to avoid disrupting
school activities and the rigging required to access the
mechanical room which was located on the roof.

White self performed the major mechanical work
while utilizing subcontractors for the ductwork,
plumbing, insulation, ATC and electrical scopes
of work.
This
project was completed on time with minimal impact
to the owner.
