Haverhill Bridge Replacement Gas Line Relocations

Project Highlights:
  • 16" Pipe carbon Steel Welded Gas Pipe
  • 8" PVC Scupper Drainage Pipe
  • Work over water
  • Radio graphed welds

To support the construction of the new Upper Country Bridge over the Merrimack River in Haverhill, Massachusetts the utilities hung from the existing bridge had to be temporarily relocated and then re-installed onto the new bridge structure.  A temporary trestle and a temporary utility bridge were constructed to provide a work platform. The Temporary utility bridge carried the utilities across the river during the construction.

J. F. White's Mechanical Group performed the work associated with the gas line relocations.  In all, approximately 1850 lf of 16" Standard Wall pipe were installed.  Each weld was radio graphed to assure quality.

In addition to the gas line work, J. F. White's Mechanical Group installed 500 lf of 8" Schedule 80 PVC Scupper Drainage on the new bridge.
