J.F. White sent an emergency dive team into the subway tunnel adjacent to the World Trade Center to respond to the "September 11th" tragedy. The J.F. White Dive Team performed two major tasks: a 3,000 linear foot penetration of the partially flooded subway (PATH) tunnel to assess structural damage and installation of temporary dewatering suction pipes.

The PATH tunnel penetration was a particularly dangerous operation because of the toxic air quality, registering carbon monoxide levels of 1,200 ppm. Despite these conditions, J.F. White assisted in installing the suction pipes, to dewater the flooded subway.

J.F. White was honored to be of service and to play a small part in America's Response to the "September 11th" tragedy. Our dive crew and the entire J.F. White team are united in sympathy for the losses of September 11, 2001.
