Branford Reconstruction of I95 Ramp

The MBTA Green Line Relocation Project runs from Haymarket Station to Science Park Station. It is the last part of the North Station Transportation Improvement Project (NSTIP), and was one of J. F. White’s most intricate projects. This project was technically rigorous, calling on J. F. White’s expertise in direct fixation track, top down construction, demolition, slurry wall installation, deep foundation drilling, transit track construction, signal communications, traction power, electrical substations and structural steel erection.

The key to the success of this project was J. F. White's flexible planning and scheduling of operations. The high level of Boston traffic – both vehicular and pedestrian – generated by Fleet Center events, Central Artery construction, and the MBTA's Commuter Rail and transit services, continued to flow as J. F. White completed this project. Careful coordination with work crews and the local authorities was our top priority.

This project demonstrated J. F. White's ability to manage the phased construction of a complex set of tasks within a confined and congested work environment.
