J. F. White was subcontracted by D'Allessandro Corporation to furnish and install steel sheeting and steel pipe piles for the Morrissey Boulevard Drainage culvert.

The vast majority of steel sheeting was SKZ-20 cold rolled steel sheeting utilized in the support of excavation of the precast concrete drainage culvert.  J. F. White was responsible to drive the sheets to grade.  The sheeting lengths ranged from 24ft to 40 ft.  The run was broken into 2 segments.  One segment was thru the University of Massachusetts entrance which was approximately 275ft long.  This segment was cut up into 5 small work zones to work with the allotted traffic patterns.

The second segment was approximately 2,625ft long.  The sheets were driven with the Linkbelt 218 lattice boom crawler crane and an ICE 28b vibratory hammer.  125 steel pipe piles were driven 80 feet deep where the culvert was crossing a peat layer.
