Route 146 Worcester, Hurley Square

McKeon Road Bridge

 

Route 146 Worcester, Hurley Square

The project consists of roadway construction on a new alignment of Route 146 in Worcester for approximately 0.83 miles and of adjacent roads for 1.28 miles.  Demolition of roadways, parking lots, and a portion of the Rome Building were included in the scope. The completed project includes 5 highway bridges, retaining walls, excavation and embankment, bridge formwork and concrete placement, paving and site finishes, traffic signals, lighting, drainage, landscaping, environmental mitigation, and maintenance of traffic.

Other important operations include 1670 LF of precast culvert installation, drilling and blasting for rock removal, and steel and precast beam erection for bridges. Work was performed near active roadways and active rail lines.

Contract amount: $43,989,000.
