State House Boiler Chiller Replacement

J.F. White was contracted by the Division of Capital Asset Management as the Mechanical General Contractor to upgrade the HVAC system at the State House in Boston, Massachusetts.

Activities involved in the project included the demolition of an existing boiler which was replaced by two more energy efficient boilers, the removal of the existing cooling tower located on the roof and replaced by two new cooling towers, the addition of a Hermetic Centrifugal Chiller which was incorporated into the existing Metasys Control System, and the conversion of 250 Chilled and Hot Water pneumatically operated control valves to electronically operated control valves.

Coordination with the owner to avoid disrupting the everyday activities of the State House was an intricate aspect of completing deadlines.
