MBTA Revenue Collection Facility

Project Highlights:
  • Over 60 new security cameras
  • Backup generator and UPS systems
  • Card access and metal detection systems

Interim construction phases required relocation of security cameras and temporary lights and heat, some portions of the work required night and/or weekend shifts

This project consisted of demolition, reconstruction and renovations to the first floor office space and counting areas, new construction of office space, storage space, equipment test area and a maintenance work area in the basement, along with new perimeter fencing and other site work.

The electrical portion of this contract included a complete electrical upgrade to the entire facility and site.  this included the electrical distribution system, new branch circuit wiring, emergency electrical circuitry, new fire alarm, security, CCTV, building intrusion, PA systems, fiber optic network and site lighting and security.

The worksite is considered a high security area and employees were required to provide identification in order to gain entrance into the facility.  It was a most challenging project due to restrictions with access to work areas.  The facility needed to be fully functional during the renovations and all systems needed to be functioning on an interim basis before the final cut overs and changes were implemented.
