This MBTA project consisted of relocating the Green
Line from the existing viaduct to the new Green Line tunnel
through the Bank North Garden (Fleet Center), up a
transition structure to meet the existing Science Park
Station.
Electrical work involved a complete Signal &
Communication system, including fiber optic, multi pair
phlenum rated phone cable, radiax cable, single & multi
conductor signal cables ranging in size from #20 to 1/O
awg, Two 13.8 KV Unit Substation and associated Motor
Control Centers, Two Ventilation Structures, DC Traction
Power distribution system for the Overhead Catenary
System and Tunnel Lighting. Sub-systems including Fire
Alarm, SCADA, Sixteen Telephone (Wayside & Centrex),
Radio and Fiber Optic systems.
The complete Overhead Catenary System included
poles, supports, traction power disconnect switches and
spring/counter weight tensioning devices.
