  • 394 Drive HP 12x74 piles
  • 453 Cut Precast Piles
  • 1 Pile Load Test
  • 12 PDA Test Piles

J.F. White was chosen by Skanksa USA Building, Inc. to drive the piles for the WRTA Maintenance and Operations facility project. J.F. White’s scope of work was to furnish and install steel H‐piles for foundation caps to support the new maintenance facility. J.F. White utilized a LinkBelt 238 with fixed leads and a vibratory hammer to probe each pile location prior to driving. A JD980 Loader was used to unload and handle piles around the site. The piles driven were HP12x74 piles with 40’ coating at the top of the pile. A total of 394 piles were driven with 12 piles receiving PDA tests and one pile receiving a pile load test. Piles ranged from 80’ to 105’ with the majority of the piles arriving on site spliced by the fabricator. However about 1/3 of the piles arrived in 2 pieces from the fabricator with J.F. White personnel splicing the piles onsite with champion splices prior to driving them. All piles were driven to bedrock and were considered end bearing. In addition, 44 piles were driven at a batter.
