Recently Awarded ContractsBrook House CondominiumsThe Brook House Condominiums are situated in the heart of Boston’s Emerald Necklace park system. The Brook House has contracted J. F. White to bring its expertise to the renovation of the complex’s aging HVAC system. The scope of this work includes the demolition of the existing steel piping and replacement with brazed copper; the demolition and replacement of the fan coil units (FCUs); and replacement of the electrical wiring of the FCUs and thermostat. J. F. White has provided the multi-disciplinary team needed to successfully execute this project. This was not limited to providing a variety of trades working smoothly together; it extended also to the superior engineering staff, which provided the Owner and Resident Engineers with solutions to design conflicts that arose. Through this diversity of strengths, J. F. White was able to not only perform the work successfully, but minimize the impact of the work on the tenants and make the project, and future projects, run more efficiently. Tobin Memorial BridgeThe Tobin Memorial Bridge is slated to be Massachusetts’ first bridge to have a wireless Structural Health Monitoring system. In preparation for this system, the bridge is undergoing repairs. J. F. White Contracting is responsible for the rehabilitation of approximately 150,000 SF of the lower deck of the bridge. This has included the demolition and replacement of concrete; repairs to the steel grids as well as to the upper and lower expansion joints; new drainage piping; new wearing surface; painting; and the maintenance of traffic. J. F. White is proud to contribute to the sustainment of this historical landmark. Northshore MallThe Northshore Mall was built in 1958, and boasted of being one of the largest shopping malls in New England – even prior to the recently completed renovations, which brought it to 1.6 million square feet. J. F. White’s Electrical Division played a crucial part in this renovation, including updating four entrances with direct and indirect lighting; supplying new power feeds to 43 kiosks throughout the mall; completing a new food court seating area with wide screens and TV monitors; 144 hi-definition stereo speakers and a new fire alarm system. These additions are anticipated to create a more convenient and enjoyable shopping experience for the Mall’s patrons. Click here to see our spotlight project
