Gillette Co-Generation Facility Upgrade

J.F. White was contracted to perform the installation of a new 10 MVA Solar Co-Gen Turbine including its supporting equipment in an existing building. Including, a UPS system, battery backup and security system upgrade. J.F. White had previously relocated the existing utilities in preparation of the turbine installation. Both jobs were completed while the building and plant remained in operation.

The second stage of the project included installing a Steam turbine as well as its associated equipment. Included in this equipment was a Neutral grounding resistor, 1600 amp Motor control center, a series of VFD’s, steam turbine control panel as well as all the necessary conduit and cable to complete the system.

The third stage in the update included the installation of a new burner management system, controls and control panel. This panel had to communicate with the existing panels and system. The last stage of work included the startup and commissioning of the entire system. Additionally during the construction the lighting system in the power house was updated to a more efficient light system.

Contract value: $1,200,000.
