J.F. White contracted with the MBTA to install the electrical finishes for Boston's new Silverline that runs 8,100 feet from South Station to the Boston World Trade Center. As part of this installation, J.F. White installed the AC and DC switchgear, lighting, overhead catenary power, signals, communication, SCADA system, six emergency ventilation shafts, and control systems. In addition, J.F. White performed photo-metric studies to meet required tunnel lighting standards.

To complete this job efficiently and effectively, J. F. White’s equipment was customized to provide the necessary mobility and flexibility for the 8,100 feet of overhead catenary installations. For example, pickup trucks were outfitted with steel work platforms that allowed the work crews to safely access hard-to-reach areas.

The Silverline Power Communications and Emergency Ventilation project shows J.F. White's ability to create innovative solutions to challenging work situations.
